150th Celebration Spring Fling
Events at the Mineola Nature Preserve, Downtown, Mineola Country Club, and the Mineola Civic Center celebrating Mineola's 150th birthday.
May 16-20. A spectacular week of events, races, a parade, contests, music, food, shopping, balloons, and cars that celebrate 150 years of our fair city!!! We’re calling it Spring Fling and we are busy putting it all together. It all starts on Tuesday (May 16), with the Mineola Chamber of Commerce long table dinner on North Johnson Street called Savor on the Bricks. Don’t miss this season’s third installment of Music in May on Thursday, May 18, with the Purple Hulls then buckle up, friends and Neighbors! May 20th will begin at the Mineola Nature Preserve at 8:00 for the Spring Fling 5K/10K/Kid’s 1K. Then the Mineola 150 Year - Disc Golf Tournament takes place there shortly afterward. Then make your way downtown for the Sesquicentennial Parade at 11:00 and stay for live music, food trucks, shopping, a beer garden, the sesquicentennial beard contest, a “fashion through the decades” contest, and other surprises. Do you like car shows? Shoot out to Mineola Country Club and have a look at Jorgies 1st annual Car/Bike Show. Then, make your way to the Mineola Civic Center for the Sesquicentennial Hot Air Balloon Glow that evening. What a week! Mineola is truly a special place. Don’t miss it!!!
