Pay the Fine

  • Contact the court within 10 days from the date of the citation to arrange payment details.

Anyone under age 18 opting to do Driving Safety Course or Deferred Disposition MUST complete DPS Road Test for moving violations.

Request Driving Safety:

To be eligible:

  • You must request Driving Safety by mail, in person or online within 30 days from the date of your citation

  • Enter a plea of Guilty or No Contest

  • Have a Valid Texas Drivers License

  • Present Proof of Insurance (must list you as a driver)

  • Not have taken Driving Safety in the past 12 months prior to the date of the offense.

  • Must pay Court Cost $134.00\$159 for school zone violation

 You are not eligible if:

  • CDL holders

  • Passing a school bus

  • Failure to stop or render aid

  • Improper or erratic lane change

  • Construction zone if workers were present

  • Speeding 25 MPH or more over posted speed limit

  • Offense involving an accident or injury

  • Driving in excess over 15 MPH over the posted speed limit in inclement weather

  • Traffic violation involving fatal accident

  • Following too close

  Request Deferred Disposition:

 You must request Deferred Disposition by mail, in person or online within 30 days from the date of your citation

  • If under 25 years of age, must take a Driving Safety Course for a moving violation

  • Cost will be the amount of the violation (contact the court for the amount)

 You are not eligible if:

  • You do not have a valid Driver's License

  • You hold a Commercial Drivers License

  • Speeding 25 mph or more over the posted speed limit

  • The offense was committed in a construction maintenance work zone and workers were present

All Deferred Disposition requests are subject to Judges approval.
