Freezing temperatures are expected, and the City of Mineola encourages residents and businesses to prepare now to protect plumbing and prevent damage.
Please remember to:
Turn off and drain sprinkler systems
Know where your main water shut-off valve is located
Insulate exposed pipes and seal drafts
Let faucets drip during prolonged freezing temperatures
If pipes freeze, shut off the water immediately and thaw using warm air only. Taking these steps now can help avoid costly repairs. Stay safe and stay warm. Continue to monitor City of Mineola updates for weather-related information.

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose courage, vision, and unwavering commitment to justice helped shape our nation. Dr. King reminded us that progress begins with compassion, service, and the belief that every person deserves dignity and equality.
As we observe this holiday, we reflect on his powerful words and enduring message of unity, peace, and hope. City offices will be closed today in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. May his legacy inspire us to continue working together to build stronger, more inclusive communities through service and understanding.
