CITY OF MINEOLA, TO FOLLOW GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT’S EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. GA-29.  The latest order relating to Statewide Face Covering Requirements, Issues Proclamation to Limit Gatherings.

The City of Mineola will be complying with all current State Order as stipulated by GA-29 by Governor Abbott as presented late this afternoon July 2, 2020.  The following statewide order effective July 3, 2020, at 12:01 p.m. (noon) subject to extension based on the status of COVID-19 in Texas.

Due to Order No. GA-29 from Governor Greg Abbott, the requirement of wearing of face covering in public and the enforcement of such order would place the burden upon any patron who would be viewing the firework show from any public area including the Mineola Civic Center, the City of Mineola reluctantly has made the decision to cancel the fireworks event that was scheduled to be held this Saturday, July 4th at the Mineola Civic Center.

Due to Governor Greg Abbott, Proclamation made July 2, 2020  along with GA-29 effective at 12:01 p.m., for Friday July 3, 2020,  reads as follow:  For any outdoor gathering in excess of 10 people, other than those set forth by the Governor, gathering is prohibited unless the mayor of the city in which the gathering is held, or the county judge in the case of a gathering in unincorporated area, approves of the gathering, and such approval can be made subject to certain conditions or restrictions not inconsistent with this executive order:
