Downtown Mineola

Downtown Mineola Texas

Mineola’s Historic Downtown District has been recognized for its outstanding preservation and revitalization efforts and is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places by the US Department of the Interior.  The beautifully restored 1900's district offers outstanding vintage, collectables and antique shops, gift and craft stores, ladies fashion and resale shops, glass art studio, candle shop, fine jewelry store, woodworking shop, nature shop, coffee shops, two bakeries, several unique dining establishments and more. Stroll the red brick streets and find your favorite.

Special events and festivals are always on the calendar giving proof of a vibrant, active community.

Two history museums are located in the Main Street District - Mineola Historical Museum, located in the old post office at 114 N Pacific Street and the Transportation Museum found inside the beautifully restored 1906 rail depot at 115 E Front Street.  The Depot is still a working station for Amtrak's Texas Eagle passenger train which stops twice a day on its route through Texas.

Musicians often meet at the charming Gazebo on Commerce Street for an impromptu jam session. All acoustic musicians are welcome and listeners BYOC (Bring your own chair) and enjoy!

A Farmers Market on Saturdays, April through October, provides local, homegrown produce as well as crafted items, artisan baked goods, flowers and more.

The Select Theater/Lake Country Playhouse is the oldest continuously operating movie theater in Texas. Live productions are on stage six times per year. First run movies are shown Fridays and Saturdays and the Lake Country Orchestra performs quarterly.
