Cornerstone Vault Opening Ceremony
Add to your calendar:
When the United States Post Office was built in Mineola in 1936, there appears to have been a box placed in the cornerstone. Through careful research and with help from a company with high tech equipment, it seems that this is true. In celebration of Mineola's Sesquicentennial year, the cornerstone will be removed and the contents of the metal box revealed. We will have a ceremony at the Museum (the old Mineola post office) at 10 am on July 8 when the Mayor and other officials will reveal what is in the time capsule. Refreshments and entertainment to follow.
