The Little Free Library at Iron Horse Square Grand Opening

Little Free Library -Grand Opening March 20 2021 Iron Horse Square

The LITTLE FREE LIBRARY at Iron Horse Square Park in downtown Mineola is ready for a grand opening!

The Grand Opening is planned for 2:00 p.m. at Iron Horse Square in Downtown Mineola on Sat. March 20, 2021.  A reception and book donation activity is also planned.  Many books have already been donated but additional books are always needed for all reading levels.  Bring a book or books to donate and get your name placed in a drawing for a door prize.

*Note:  If March 20 is bad weather, Grand Opening will be held on Sat. Mar. 27.

Children are encouraged to go by Iron Horse Square, sit down, and read a book or take it home to read.  Children can even trade a book from home for one of the books at this library. Take a book - leave a book - read a book.

The LITTLE FREE LIBRARY is sponsored by the Wood County chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, Epsilon Gamma, a professional society of women educators. If you are a female educator or member of the support staff and are interested in joining Delta Kappa Gamma, please contact chapter president, Janell Abbott, at jfabbott@prodigy.net.  For more information about Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, go to dkg.org.

Expressions of gratitude go out to:

ASTEF (Alpha State Texas Educational Foundation) Project Stipend to fund the building of the Little Free Library.
