Are you a motivated high school student looking for a rewarding summer job? The City of Mineola Parks and Street Department is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Summer Maintenance Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, contribute to the community, and earn some extra income during the summer break.
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform various manual labor tasks related to park and street maintenance, including but not limited to mowing, landscaping, painting, and general upkeep.
- Assist in street maintenance activities such as pothole repairs, sidewalk maintenance, and other tasks as assigned.
- Operate and maintain equipment and tools under the guidance of experienced staff.
- Work collaboratively with the Parks and Street Department team to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment for our community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school student (rising sophomore, junior, or senior).
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Punctual and reliable.
DURATION:
This is a seasonal position for the summer break, with flexible hours based on departmental needs and the availability of the selected candidates.
