Update on Disconnections during COVID-19

The City of Mineola suspended late fees and disconnection of water service when the COVID-19 Disaster Declaration was signed by Mayor White in March of 2020.  We understood that our citizens were facing a very difficult time and ensuring that each household had access to clean water was very important during this public health crisis.

Fees for past due accounts will resume as normal in July.  However, the City of Mineola will work with individual customers to work out payment plans during this time.  If you are not able to pay your water bill due to COVID-19, please contact our office at 903-569-6183 to advise us of your situation and to make a plan to get your bill paid.  The City of Mineola wants to work with you to get your account caught up without imposing more fees that will make it even harder to pay your bill.

Late fees for non-payment will resume July 11th on past due balances, and disconnections will resume July 21st.  Late fees are $10 or 10% of your TOTAL AMOUNT DUE, whichever is higher.  The fee for disconnection is $30, regardless if the water is physically disconnected before you make your payment.  After-hours reconnection fee is an additional $75.00.  If a payment arrangement is made, most of these fees could be avoided.

Please call us at 903-569-6183 if you are unable to pay your bill so that we can set up a payment plan.
